0 19/7 TO: Mayor and Council September 27, 1974. FROM: L.D. Pollock Re: Coquitlam and District Hospital Budget Short-fall The Council will recall that in January of this year we dealt with a request from the Coquitlam and District Hospital Society to provide a share of an , estimated $3,000.00 short—fall in their operating budget for 1974. -At that time.we approved a contribution based on sharing with Port Moody, Coquitlam and ‘Electoral Area B, the other component areas however did not approve their share of costs.:: «. Since that time the matter has been refer-ed to the Minister of Health and the G.V.R.D. and both of these sources have declined to assist in meeting this budget short~fall. The Hospital Society are therefore in a position where they will be unable to meet their administrative costs without some ‘other source of — revenue. Mayor Campbell has asked that council give the matter further consideration. ‘with a view to assisting the Society. If council agrees to assist we could make a further approach to Coquitlam and Port Moody to try and obtain cost sharing.
