LETTERS Dear Ms. Stevenson: It was with some surprise and dismay that we noted our letter of September 22 published in the Potters Guild of B.C. News- letter, and we trust that you will also publish this one to cla- rify our question. Our letter was simply an enquiry to find out whether our pro- blems originated with us, or whether other potters were having similar problems which might point to them originating in the clay body. If this were the case, we are aware that we are at liberty to go back to Plainsman Clay with our troubles. We thought that the subject might have been brought up at one of your meetings, and did not mean to discredit Plainsman Clay. Yours truly, S. R. Whalley (Secretary) Thompson Valley Potters Guild Guild response: . since your original letter was addressed to the newsletter editor, we could only assume that you wished us to print it. Also, the newsletter seemed to be the means of putting your question ta the largest number of people, since many of our members live outside the Vancouver area and do not attend meet- ings. Sorry for any problems this may have caused you. Also we did not wish to discredit Plainsman Clay or Greenbarn Pot- tery who have provided consistently good service to potters over a great number of years. 8
