residential schools —

Dear Sir:

Allow me to reflect a little on
Mr. William Burgess calling me a
racist.

Pretty well everybody is called
a “racist? these days. Preston
Manning is the latest target.

To me a racisl is a while man
who wants the Indians out of the
way, lo live a ghetto lifestyle on
reserves and who wants to give
them self government while they
are not self sufficient. This

amounts to promoting apartheid,

I want integration with the resl
of Canada’s variety of races. For
that I am called a ‘‘racist.””

That shoe fits perfectly on the
feet of those Indians who refuse
to join the rest of Canada, who
want us killed, and who want to
bring back the Stone Age, which
they call ‘‘culture.’’ All cultures
are subject to change.

The media and natives keep
harping against _—residential
schools, which were a gift and a
blessing in my opinion. It took
native kids out of their isolation
and ignorance and made them ac-

cepted by socicty as a whole.

Several former native students
confirmed that to me. Free room,
clean beds, good. food, medical
care and education. Whal is
wrong wilh that?

When society didn’t look after
natives for their wellbeing, . the
churches did. But it seems their
charity is not appreciated by the
leftist indoctrinated present gen-
eration...

White. kids: ‘have. also been
living in boarding schools and
still’ are. When I was 13 years old
I myself spent three months in a

boarding school, and I enjoyed it.

It is better than .runhing away --...

School, run by: the’ Anglican
church All boys, were white and
happy,

There was. also a boarding
school for. girls. Discrimination
again? No, a privilege.

Some people don’l. want ta
learn (while they demand more
government money for cduca-
tion), and. don’t want to work.
They. arc drop-outs from schools
and socicty, which they blame for

their own failure.
All the publicity
residential schools as such (I am

not defending some brothers who’
_ fell off the wagon) is’ nothing else...

wing ‘political agenda. Just read
