The Community Development Committee met on Wednesday, September 3rd, 1975.
Present were:
Alderman G.R. Laking
Alderman L.M. Traboulay
_ Lanson Lee
and L.D. Pollock.

Land Sales

Counc”,. will recall that in the past we have had negotiations with School
Distr: #43 regarding the sale of property on Reeve Street for a school
site. When this was last discussed, Council suggested that the site be
leased to the School Board rather than purchased on a outright basis. The
School Board have now informed us that the School Board does not have a
provision to construct schools on property which it does not own. They have
authority now under the current Capital Expense Programme to acquire this
site.

The Land Sales Committee recommends that the Council consider the sale of this
site to the School Board at a price set by an independent appraiser and that
the property be zoned P~2 to restrict development to school construction.
