ACTIVITIES DURING THIS REPORTING PERIOD * Several meetings with DFO, MOE and Associated Engineering have been undertaken. Several alignment options have been produced for discussions with these agencies to obtain their approval. The latest alignment design appear to have met the requirements of these agencies. Latest preliminary alignment and profile design has been fine tuned and will, pending geotechnical findings, likely be the basis of detailed design. | Bridge design: Preliminary bridge design has been initiated; span arrangement, structure depth and pier configuration have been set based on precast |-girder superstructure. Site visit and walk through with DFO and MOE staff completed on March 3, 1994, “ie . NWPA: NWPA application has been completed and submitted to Canadian Coast Guards, Navigable Waters for approval. Hydraulics: Hydraulic analysis being rerun due to changes in dyke realignment through Indian Reserve. Results of hydraulic modelling expected by March 15, 1994, The review of backwater elevations is being completed as part of this analysis to determine increased dyke elevations resulting from bridge construction. ; Waters Act: MOE application under the Waters Act is in progress and expected to be sent out by next week. Environmental: Envirowest have prepared an initial concept pian for compensation habitat. Environmental agencies have expressed interest in this concept and have requested more details, including approval of concept from able W ater Protech
