k) Project security and the protection of completed work.

Provide in a way best suited to the needs of the project and
compatible with logical planning, economy and the avoidance of
duplication, all of the construction facilities and services common
to the requirements of more than one trade contractor, both
temporary and permanent, as are planned and called for in item 7
above. Insure that all bidders are informed of the facilities and
services being provided.

Provide a correct survey and layout of the structure and ensure
that the construction lines and levels are maintained.

Pre-quality contractors for each Trade and prepare a list of
recommended didders.

Prepare all documents for the purpose of calling tenders for
various Trade Contracts.

Invite pudlic tenders or solicit !ocal bids for all components of the
project. To avoid any possibility of a conflict of interest, the
construction manager shail not be permitted to undertake any
portion of the construction work with his/her own forces.

Receive and analyze tenders and make recommendations for the
Trade Contract Awards.

Prepare the contract documents for all successful Trade
Contractors and ensure all the applicable legal requirements are
complied with. Ensure all the bonds are provided where required
and inspect all insurance policies and workmen’s compensation
certificates.

Provide cianning, scheduling, expediting, technical coordination
and supervision necessary for the proper execution of the work of
ail Trades. Perform any work with his/her own forces where
circumstances demand.

Provide technical and financial adminstration with respect tc
progress payments, updating cash flow requirements and
holdback releases.

Expedite the receipt o7 all shop drawings to ensure that they
comply with the specified requirements in general terms before
submitting them to the Architect for approval.

Evaluate and process all changes. Examine charges by the
Trade Contractors to ensure that they are reasonable and in
accordance with the contract documents.

Provide for and administer the necessary procedures to permit
recovery of ail tax rebates where applicable.
