AND FURTHER THAT the Federal Government of Canada and the
Provincial Government of B.C. enact suitable policies and/or
legislation whereby all federal agencies, including but not
necessarily limited to Federal Ministries, Crown Corporations,
the R.C.M.P., and the Armed Services; and all provincial
agencies, including but not limited to Provincial Ministries, .
Crown Corporations, Regional Districts, Municipalities and School
Districts give preference to suppliers of goods and materials
that include a suitable component of recyclable materials in
their products;

AND FURTHER THAT copies of this motion be forwarded to all B.c.
Municipalities for their consideration and support, the
Honourable Lucien Bouchard, Federal Minister of Environment,
Honourable John Reynolds, Provincial Minister of Environment, Mr.
John Cashore, M.L.A., Opposition Critic for Environment, the
Federation of Canadian Municipalities, the Union of B.C.
Municipalities, the Lower Mainland Municipal Association, the
Greater Vancouver Regional District, Ms. Dawn Black, M.P., Mr.
Svend Robinson, M.P., Mr. Barry Jones, M.L.A., Mr. Dave Mercier,
M.L.A. and Mr. Elwood Veitch, M.L.A.* |

In accordance with the above we respectfully request your support
for enactment of the appropriate legislation and/or policies to
encourage development of products containing recycled materials.

It is only through our combined efforts that we will truly be
successful in improving our environment through reduction of
materials in the waste stream.
