7", rye Section 1° General Items 1.04 a), d) and @) section 3: Waterworks tems 3.05, 3.08, 3.09 a) and b) Section §:; Manholes and Catch Basins {tems 5.01 b) i), ii) & li) With the exception of 1.04 a) the approximate quantities for each of these items are very small, hence the effect of an inflated unit price on the tendered value is also small, 4owever an increase in the approximate quantities will increase the tendered amount more significantly. As a result construction inspection will have to ensure that quantities on these items are measured accurately and possible increases in quantities reduced to a minimum. 7. COMPARISON WITH ESTIMATE As a percentage of our construction cost estimate the lowest tender was 9,5% less than the cost estimate and the highest tender 24% higher. The average tender price was - 7,7% higher than our estimate. We believe that the tenders are cormpetitive and that the lowest tender price may be accepted with confidence. 8.
