SUBJECT: ‘Upgrading Mary Hill Road.

RECOMMENDATION :

That we recommend to Council to proceed with upgrading
Mary Hill Road between Atkins and Wilson as outlined below with the
$57,000 cost to come out of the $1,750,000 appropriated from the Tax
Sale Reserve.

Specific items.included in the $57,000 estimate are:

1. Sidewalk on east side of Mary Hill Road.

2. Curb and gutter on east side of Mary Hill Road.

3. Relocation of up to five utility poles.

4. Installation of three new catch basins.

5. Landscape the boulevard on the east side of .
Mary: Hill Road. ‘

6. 4 two inch asphalt overlay from curb to curb.

7. Redo the sidewalk, curb and gutter on the south

_ side of Wilson from Mary Hill Road to the Wilson

Centre parking lot entrance.

We would have required a developer to provide most of the
above if this were a private building. Alsc, these improvements will
enhance the appearance of the new Library.

If spéedy approval is granted, we should be able to com
plete the works prior to the library opening.
