Re: Lane South of Fraser, Flint to Shaughnessy

The sidewalk constructed by the Ministry of Highways
and Public Works on the east side of Shaughnessy, north of the
Lougheed has blocked off the access from Shaughnessy to the
above mentioned lane. The Committee recommends that the
subject lane be closed at Shaughnessy and ‘that a turn-around
at this point be constructed.

ITEM IV

Re: Shaughnessy Str-at Lighting

At the re -i:ar Council Me. "g held May 30th, 1977
the following resolution was passed:

"That as recommended in a report from the Public
Works Committee, May 27th, 1977, the streetlighting be
undertaken on Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue North
to the Underpass at an estimated cost of $31,000.".,

Bids and quctations have been received and it is
apparent that the project will now cost approximately $48,000.
It is possible to reduce the project to one side of Shaughnessy
only and stay within the approved $31,000; however, the Committee
requests that Council consider proceeding with the entire
project even if it means reducing the amount of work undertaken

in 1978.
