June 30th, 1975 A regular meeting cf the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitiam, B. C. on June 30th, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, City Planning Technician Reg Zotzman, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: Minutes -- June 23/75 Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on June 23rd, 1975, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: A memorandum from the City Clerk, June 16th, 1975, advising that R.Shileumah re proposed demolition- 2571 Pitt by the various inspecting agencies, was taken from its listed position River Road the demolition of the structure at 2571 Pitt River Road was recommended on the agenda for consideration at this time as the owner of the property, Mr. R. Shileumah, was in attendance and wished to make a presentation thereon. Mr. Shileumah advised that he was using the property for gardening purposes and the building as a machine shop - not for human habitation - and he requested that since he had only recently acquired the property, he be permitted to have more time to clean it up and make the necessary repairs to the building so that will be in a safe condition. Alderman Ranger stated he wes opposed to the structure being torn down as it was simply being used as a tool shop and Alderman Keryluk advised that he had seen the property and that in view of the fact that the owner is an elderly person, the cleaning up required was proceeding reasonably well. Alderman Mabbett pointed out that the house had previously been used for human habitation, and as the condition of the structure is very unsightly, he stated he did not believe it should be permitted to remain on the property.
