Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as requested in a letter from the Port Coquitlam Firefighters Association, Local 1941, October 31st, 1974, permission be granted to the Firefighters of Port Coquitlam to conduct tag days in the City on November 22nd and 23rd, 1974. Carried. The City Clerk advised that with respect to the request to hang a banner at the Underpass, arrangements had been made for this through his office. Alderman Ranger referred to the suggestion in the letter that the City may wish to give a donation, and he proposed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That with respect te the advice from the Port Coquitlam Firefighters Association, Local 1941, in its letter of October 31st, 1974, that that Association would accept any donation the City may wish to give to help support the fund-raising campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, this matter be referred to the Finance Committee for consider- ation. From the Coquitlam Chamber of Commerce, October 24th, 1974, advising re Citizen/Sportsman of the Year Pub.Wks.Comm.re crosswalk-across Chester St. to Catholic Church that the Chamber will once again this year honour a citizen and a Sports- man of the Year in District No. 43 for which nominations will be accepted up to December 3lst, 1974, with the awards to be presented at the Chamber's annual ball in January. REPORTS: From the Public Works Committee, November lst, 1974, advising for information that a request has been received from the Catholic Church on Chester Street for a crosswalk to assist pedestrians and particularly children, in crossing Chester Street to the Church, and stating that recommendations will be forthcoming concurrent with the engineering design of the upgraded portion of Chester Street North of the Lougheed Highway.
