BY~LAW NO. 1291

A By-law to amend the “Assignment of Duties By~law, 1972, No. 1184",
The Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlan,

in open meeting assembled, enacts ag follows:

1. Section 7 and 8 of the “Assignment of Duties By-law, 1973 No. 1184"

are repealed and the following substituted therefor:

"7, There shall be appointed an Officer of the municipality
known as the Parks Superintendent.
8. The Parks Superintendent shall, under the control of the
City Engineer:

(a) supervise and direct the parks and facilities personnel of the
Engineering Department in their day to day activities;

(b) hire and appoint employees for the parks and facilities crews
of the Engineering Department for whom provision is made by the Council
and who are required 3 .

(c) ditamiss employees under his Jurisdiction for cause or when they
are no longer required 3

(4) assign work crews and equipment in the best possible manner to
contribute to the effective management of the parks and facilities crews
of the Engineering Department 3

(e) participate, on behalf of the City, in collective bargaining
with any Union representing parks and facilities Personnel employees and in
the administrative Procedures involved during the life of any collective
agreement including acting for the City in the first step of any grievance
Procedure established pursuant to the provisions of any collective agreement
covering parks and. facilities personnel 3
, (£) generally, assist the City Engineer in the performance of hig
duties herein assigned and perform such other duties as may be prescribed
by the City Engineer or the Council from time to time."

2. This By-law may be cited for all purposes as the “Assignment of Duties By-law,

1972, No. 1184, Amendment By-law, 1973, No. 1291,"
Read a first time by the Municipal Council this Twenty-sixth day of

November, 1973.
Read a second time by the Municipal Council this Twenty~sixth day of

sovember, 1973.
Read a third time by the Mmictpal Council this Twenty~sixth day of

November, 1973,
Reconsidered, finally passed and adopted by the Municipal Council of The

Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam this Third day of December, 1973,
