a twist

IT WASN'T a typical sports
day. Not unless you'd call kids
trying to race in clothing and
boots 12 sizes too large a typi-
cal sporting event.

But the students at Copper
Mountain Elementary were up
to the challenges of these
alternative events.

During the group balance
event seven children teetered
on a small square of plywood,
approximately three feet
square, But the record for the
day could have been even
more.

In the carry-all students
wore, carried and balanced a
wide variety of items includ-
ing hulu hoops, hockey sticks,
plastic toys and much more.
