DIVISION SIX - DIMENSIONS OF VESICLES AND LOADS

601. For the purposes of this division:

(a) "highway" excludes an arterial highway designated under the Highway Act; and

(b) “Local service call" means operating, parking or stopping a vehicle upon a highway
for the purpose of delivering materials to premises or collecting materials from

premises.
(c) The following classes of vehicles are established:

(i) Glass. Yehicle - a motor vehicle licenced under the Motor Vehicle Act or
Commercial Transport Act for a gross vehicle weight of 4,600 kg. or less.

Class 2 Vehicle - a motor vehicle licenced under the Motor Vehicle Act or

Commercial Transport Act for a gross vehicle weight of more than 4,600 kg.,

that is not required to, display a municipal licence plate issued in accordance

with the provisions of Division (2) of Part 11 of the Municipal Act and "The

city of Port Coquitlam Commercial Vehicle Licencing Bylaw, 1964", Bylaw
0. 770.

Class. 3 Vehicle a motor vehicle licenced under the Motor Vehicle Act or
Commercial Transport Act for a gross vehicle weight of more than 4,600 kg.,
that is required to display a municipal licence plate issued in accordance with
the provisions of Division (2) of Part 11 of the Municipal Act and "The City of
Port Coquitlam Commercial Vehicle Licencing Bylaw, 1964", Bylaw No. 770.

No person shall operate or use a vehicle cr combination of vehicles which is
overloaded or oversized within the definition in Section 1 of the Commercial
Transport Act, on a highway within the City, unless:

(i) a permit for the operation of the vehicle or combination of vehicles has been
issued pursuant to Section 9 of the Commercial Transport Act; and:

(ii) a permit has been issued under this section by the City Engineer, setting out the
route which the overloaded or oversized vehicle is to take and the date and
hours of permitted operation and use of the overloaded or oversized vehicle.

As a condition of issuance of a permit by the City Engineer under Section 602 (a), a
fee in the amount of $50.00 shall be submitted with every application for such a

permit.
