CONVENTION ATTENDANCE POLICY

POLICY STATEMENT

That a maximurn of two elected City officials may attend future annual Federation of
Canadian Municipalities’ and Union of British Columbia Municipalities’ conventions.

RECOMMENDATIONS
That the agendas, workshops, and resolutions of annual general meetings of the Federation

of Canadian Municipalities’ and Union of British Columbia Municipalities’ be reviewed
by Council as a whole prior to the convention date.

a) To ensure that all areas of concern to Council are covered by the appointed attendees.

b) That convention resolutions be voted on representing the collective will and vote of

Council.

RATIONALE

That Council, as a whole, decides on voting on each resolution and which workshops they
would prefer attendance at. The attendance of two elected Officials would then be

sufficient to cover the convention in its entirety.
