Freeman, Cece City Treasurer city Clerk SUBJECT: 1986 May Day with reference to your October 16th, 1985 memorandum concerning the above noted subject this would advise that at the Council Committees meeting haid on October 21st, 1985 the Council took the following actions: re The Council did not agree that the parade route should be focated on the North Side of Port Coquitlam. Later In the meeting the Committee agreed that the parade should be the same as last years parade route except that Elgin Avenue should be used instead of McA! lister Avenue. this item should be referred 2. The Counci{i agreed that back to your Committee for further study. 3. . The Council! agreed that this Item should be referred back to your Committee for further study. The Committee agreed that $5,000.00 should be placed in the budget for a City float. You wlll recall that Mayor Traboulay stated he would be approaching the C.P.R. and investigating the possibility of recelving a matching grant from that organization. 4. fm connection with item 2 and item 3 you will recal| the Council's concern that If the Crowning Ceremonies and the May Pole Dancing take place on Friday evening there would not be events occurring on Saturday, after the parade, that would entertain the itnvited guests and It Is my understanding that your Committee willl be attempting to resolve this difficulty.
