P Wks .Comm.re From the Public Works Committee, June 2ist, 1974, submitting a menoran- garbage disposal dum from the City Engineer dated June 18th, 1974, concerning garbage disposal, and a report from the Public Works Committee and the Environnental Protection Sub-Committee, Decenber 15th, 1972, on the Solid Wa ste Recycling Study, wherein six recommendations were approved by council and subsequently the G ‘V. R. D. agreed to provide the sum of ¥5 000. 00 to assist in a Solid Waste “Recycling Pilot Project. The Committee, in its report, stated it feels that garbage cullection service is a direct measurable service similar to domestic water and sanitary sewer service, and that a direct charge for the service is a reasonable approech; ako, it is felt that if the. recycling project is “appro- ved and is successful, some reduction in charges might be considered by Council.
