This proposal has been prepared based on our earlier discussion and our review of working papers of the System evaluation and selection study we conducted for the City in 1982. It outlines: > Our understanding of your current situation. » "Our proposed consulting program. » Staffing, duration and cost of the study. A. OUR UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR CURRENT SITUATION In early 1982, Thorne Stevenson & Kellogg completed a systems evaluation and selection study on behalf of the City of Port Coquitlam. This study resulted in the implementation of a Basic Four Mode! 710 mini computer system supplied by MAI Canada Ltd. The same company also provided you with a software package that was extensively modified to meet your needs. You are reasonably pleased with this system. Since then, you have expanded your use of this computer system. For example, you are now entering payroll input data daily instead of weekly. You have also implernented many enhancements into your software package. The hardware configuaration has expanded from four terminals to today's twelve comprised of seven data processing and five word processing terrninals. The on- line disk storage has also increased from 70 million characters to today's 225 million. You process about 120,000 transactions and spend approximately $15,000 on software enhancements annually, 48 Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton.
