Re: Public Hearing on Rezoning By--law No. 1395

I move that the Public Hearing for By-law No. 1395 be postponed until
such time that all affected residents have an opportunity to express their
opinion on Council's Land Use Policy in the McLean Avenue South area.

if this motion passes I would propose that an informal meeting be
held between the affected residents and Council as soon as possible.

{ am sponsoring this tabling motion for the following reasons:

Residents feel that they have been given short notice of Council's.

Land Use Policy that was adopted by resolution on September 8th, 1975.

Actually, residents were given no notice of the change in land use

policy in this area. The motion approving the policy change was
followed by a motion to approve application R#10/75 on September 8th.
Some affected residents claim they did not receive notice of the
Public Hearing.
I do not believe Council has adopted an official short, medium or
long range plan for the whole area in question. The residents are
concerned about industry creeping into the residential area over a
period of time.
