Fin.Comm. re From the Finance Committee, April 17th, 1975, referring to the dyking & drainage cost-sharing Federal-Provincial Dyking Programme which involves upgrading of all study (Dist.of Coquitlam & dykes and internal drainage facilities in the City, and advising that as City) required by the Department of Water Resources the City and District of Coquitlam have agreed to take over the system on a joint basis and an application was submitted to the Province in the name of the City to initiate the project. The Committee, in its report, further advised it has been proposed that the Greater Vancouver Sewage and Drainage District be engaged to carry out a study of the area to determine the basis of cost-sharing between the two municipalities, and that the G.V.S. & D.D. indicated this could be prepared at a cost of $2,000.00. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended in a report from the Finance Committee, April 17th, 1975, the Greater Vancouver Sewage and Drainage District be requested to undertake a study of the drainage area and the Coquitlam Dyking District and recommend an appropriate method of cost-sharing between the District and the City of Port Coquitlam for the operation and maintenance of: (a) the present dyking and drainage system, and (b) the system proposed by the Bonham Report; AND THAT the cost of the said Study, estimated at $2,000.00, be shared on a 50-50 basis between the City of Port Coquitlam and the District of Coquitlam.
