In memory of Elai HERE ‘N THERE: YVONNE MOEN THE WAGNER family is mourning the loss of Elaine ~ Evelyn Farrell (Wagner), ~ Elaine was born in Terrace April 27, 1949, At the time of her birth, the Wagner family was living where the 7-11 store is located today. ’ Elaine was bom at home _ With: nurse Sikler ‘to help _ With the delivery, She was the fifth child born to Art and Evelyn Wagner. ‘.-Her ‘parents had 12 chil- “dren. All of them grew up and -went.to school in Ter- race, Iu Tertace, Elaine married Phil Dumont and bad three bays: Todd, Barry and Wade, { She’ worked at various businesses here including cafes, the airport and the ‘dry-cleaners. After’ taking computer courses at the vocational School; she moved to the Lower. Mainland to work for Yale Secondary as a pay roll clerk. She also taught com- puter. courses, Elaine was a woman of many talents and had a lot of energy. She sold fish pate from her own fiome business. Aller leaving her job as payroll clerk, Elaine bought a laundromat at Clearbrook. Afler running that for a few years, she moved to Mill Bay, near Victoria, and bought an 85-seat licensed restaurant, Eventually all her hard work took its toll on her health, , She battled cancer for the second time in her life. When ‘her’ health improved, she sold the restaurant to do some travelling. Afterward, Elaine moved to Calgary, where she joined the Legion Auxillary and did some volunteer work. Elaine fought a final long, hard batile with cancer. On Jan. £1, 1999 she passed away in Calgary. She was 52, At last, she is free of all pain. She was buried in Terrace Jan. 15. near her parents. The funeral service was held at the Knox United Church with Rev. Michael Hare officiating the service. Her eulogy was done by her brother Jim Wagner. Music was performed by the Renes, who sang Elaine’s favorite sang. Pallbearers were all her nephews. Afterward, everyone gathered at Elks Hall for refreshments.
