Our leather wrap suit is softer, more sensuous, and more slimming than ultr-suede versions. The pigskin is tanned in Canada by an Italian who is a fourth generation leather man. The quality is every bit as fine as European products. The traditional problem with leather has, of course, been in the cleaning of it. But we have an ingenious solution. We have created blouse/liners for the suit jacket in wool crepe wool silk and for for in cool silk. (The days--the warmer ones!) The blouse/liners are easily removed and may be cleaned, saving the leather from wear. The liners are completely detachable that with so a matching skirt, they make two-piece dresses! right, the leather suit with a wool crepe liner, dress with a blouse/liner! crepe dress: printed silk (Naturally, $250. (We heed the dictum that one picture is worth a thousand words!) But if you cannot wait or need to plan a wardrobe before the Labour Day benchmark, we have a few suggestions about trends that bear watching. There will be a great emphasis on colour--on vibrant colours and on interesting new combinations of colours. Colour-contrast becomes more important than colour-blend. (Accent a green velvet jacket with a purple tie!) Needless to say, the rules for acceptable contrast are no easier to state than rules for producing Picassos. You almost need a painter's eye! Silhouettes will be narrower and everybody will be looking at your shoulders. But at LMW, we don't want to go back to wearing the tight uncomfortable clothes that once were fashionable. So with us, the narrow silhouette will be achieved partly through our choice of fabrics. We favour fabrics with a good drape, those that follow body lines (without clinging in an uncomfortable way). That's why we have chosen to work with genuine leather, cashmere, and cashmere/silk mixes. Heavy unyielding fabrics should be relegated to storage trunks. And what about the much vaunted militarism and bristling shoulder? The sombre allusions are distasteful, perhaps even morally offensive. And besides, who wants to pack clothes like that? But everybody is looking at your shoulders this fall. So, we didn't want to neglect them. Our answer to Military Might is the Yorkshire Pudding Sleeve! It is so named because it is richly gathered into a puff at the top and falls to a narrow cuff. The effect is very perky, charming, and amusing. We guarantee it will give you a ACCESSORY lift! NOTES Our unique-to-LMW CHIFFON HALF SLIPS seem to be an indispensible accessory! They are selling very well and so we have increased the colour selection.
