Rauh, Acting City Clerk Board of Variance Bylaw, 1982, No. 1919 Recommendations That the Clerk's Office be instructed to amend the Board of Variance Bylaw, 1982, No. 1919, by making the following changes. 1. Section 2(a), Schedule "A" (Notice of Appeal) be repealed and Schedule "a" attached to this memorandum be substituted. >, Section 2(b) be amended by deleting the words “within seven days following the day of the decision or order being appealed”. 3. Section, 2(c) be amended by deleting the words “within seven days of the receipt of the document”. 4, That Seetion 5 of the Bylaw be repealed. . Background and Comments: Schedule "A" of the Bylaw has been slightly altered to clarify homeowner information as well as asking for more detailed information on the sketch plan that accompanies the application. The other three amendments are strictly housekeeping changes to keep the bylaw up-to-date with current practices of the Board of Variance. Sections 2(b) and 2(e) are being amended so. that applications will all be processed at the same time. It is often the case that an application comes in a month before the next scheduled meeting and yet another will be submitted only eight days before the meeting. Section 5 is being deleted as all applicants are notified within seven days in writing; however, Board orders are not signed by the members until the next scheduled meeting. It is a general guide to the Board of Variance process; hopefully, this guide will help people better understand how the Board of Variance functions within the City.
