I was only able to contacc 5 members of Counci1, Mayor . Scott and Alderman Laking agreed with the arrangements providing that the Com missionatre remained posted for the weekend trade, Alderman Mabbett agreed and . felt that the Commissionaire should be on hand for the whole week, Alderman Leggatt agreed and felt that no particular arrangements needed to be made for traffic control. Alderman Ranger did not agree with occupancy until the parking lot: and alley way were completed. I wag unable to contact Alderman Meyer and ; Alderman Thompson, On the basis of the information received from the Aldermen, 7 oo. I contacted the Liquor Commission and they opened their doors, sometime around 2:30 or 3:00 o'clock on Friday afternoon, If there is an infraction of our By-laws in this instance, it is the fault of the developer rather than the Liquor Commission, Apparently the dey~ eloper gave the Liquor Control Board authority to open without checking on occu- pancy permits, etc. In regard to charging the developer with occupying without a permit, I have referred this matter to our Solicitor and he is reviewing our By-laws to determine whether or not we have the Brounds to charge in view of . the fant that the building was completed and we do have fnnda to complete the ° balance of the exterior work, ; | . . ; . | : i . iy ° weno capa . . | , 7 Neate pbde a Geb es . . | SL : ‘ . .
