Capilano College Craft Department is registering students
for the fall courses.

Beginner Pottery (Art 163) covers handbuilding, basic
throwing, glazing techniques, kiln loading and firing.

The more advanced pottery (Art 273) concentrates on
throwing skills, functional ware and basic glaze theory.
Day and evening classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
9,00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Interview times: May 28-June 1, June 4-8. For further
information phone Capilano College, 986-1911, local 390, or
the individual instructors prior to May 28 to arrange with
the Co-ordinator time for interview. Upon acceptance,
$100.00 non-refundable deposit will be required.

International Academy of Ceramics. Members of the Inter-
national Academy of Ceramics ended their American
Conference with a week in the Seattle, Bellevue,
Wenatchee area. Ceramic exhibitions in many private
galleries held pieces from 20 countries = much of it
sculptural or architectural. <A eocktail reception
opening the B.C. Potters Guild exhibition was very
generously hosted by the Consulate General in Seattle,
with our new Consul General and Mrs. Jacques Asselin in
attendance. A special thank-you to Frances Fraser,
Hanneh Kristmanson and Gordon Thorlakson for travelling
to Seattle to assist in setting up the #.C. show. Jean
Fahrni represented western Canada in presenting her
illustrated lecture on the development of porcelain
and the early marketing and trade routes.
