NORTH PEACE POTTERS' GUILD President's Report - May 1984 Raku - An enjoyable and successful all day firing took place in August at &@ member's home in the country. Guild members constructed the kiln from 300 fire bricks. Another firing is scheduled for August ‘84. Workshops- Valerie Pugh Conducted a weekend workshop in October with an emphasis on low fire decorative techniques. We enjoyed slides of her own work which was mainly sculparal. Byron Johnstad was here for an instructive weekend in February. Slides of his past and present work were shown, The workshop emphasis was an low fire glazing techniques and slip casting. Guild members found both workshops very beneficia!] and stimulating. We are hoping to have two workshoos next year. Christmas Sale - Our 12th annua) Christmas Sale was held in early December at the Fort St. John Mal]. Work from five members was represented with most quild members participating in some way. Next year we Slan to extend our sale to two days. We are pleased to be able to sponsor a show entitled JUGS by heather Hannaford, a long time guild member, on June 20-24th. New display shelving 7s being built to enhance individual shows and future sales. The chimney 1s up for a new reduction kiln in the studio we share with Northern Lights College. We are really leoking forward to using this kiln in the fall of ‘S84. North Peace Potters" Guild is centinuing to enjoy the shared errangement with the college. Qur current membership stands at 22. 9
