Thank you for your letter of October ZI OOD,
regarding the Canadian Unity Agreement.

Like you, I was disappointed by the results of
the October 26 referendum. At the same time, though, I
was heartened by the diversity of the coalition which came
together to support it. It proves that people are willing
to put aside special interests in order to pursue the
community's greater interest. For that experience, I am
grateful.

Let me assure you that the relationship we
cemented during the referendum will continue. Our
government is committed to working with La Fédération des
francophones de la Colombie-Britannique to ensure your
community's continued vitality and future development.
