THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM JUN 12 1978 Mayor and Council June 8th, 1978 F.E. Peters, P. Eng., City Engineer Re: Senior Citizens Extension - Architect's Inspection I reported to you previously on my reasons for wishing to have the architect provide inspection and super- vision of the senior citizens extension project. A copy of that memorandum is attached. My understanding of Council's direction is that I was tq bring to Council a revised agreement with the architect to cover inspection services for Council's consideration. The architect has provided a form detailing proposed revisions to the agreement for inspection services and an explanatory letter, copies of which are attached. It should be noted that the proposed upset fee for all architectural services is $22,500.00, which is $4,500.00 more than the upset fee in the initial agreement. It should also be noted that the acduwal fee under either form of inspection is based, not on a firm figure but on actual costs to the architect depending on the number of trips made, up to the maximum upset fee. The architect's proposal also allows for a resident field inspector at an additional cost to the City. I do not recommend that the architect provide a resident field inspector as the work can be monitored by our own works or building inspector whenever necessary. The solicitor has reviewed the proposed amendments to the agreement and finds them satisfactory. I therefore request that Council consider the use of the architect's services for supervision of the project and that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign the revised agreement. Ya ™ F..E. Peters, F. Eng., City Engineer.
