Alderman Ranger spoke to the above-noted By-law, stating he was pleased to see the budget concluded after many hours of deliberation, and. pointing out that some of the highlights include the City's share of the Lougheed Highway drainage and lighting, Phase I of the downtown street lighting improvements, etc. Alderman Laking mentioned monies were also allocated for a storm drain on Kingsway Avenue, and that there was only a 6% increase in this year's budget over that for 1976. Alderman Traboulay referred to past criticism regarding Council's lack of an agressive approach to the Industrial area, and stated he felt its commitment of $50,000.00 therefore was significant.
