June 30th, 1975 Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam go on record as endorsing the letter pproposed by Mayor Campbell to be sent to The Honourable Otto Lang protesting the over-ruling of the jury system as was recently done in the case of Dr. H. Morgentaler, who was on trial for performing illegal abortions. Carried. The City Clerk then advised for information that the next Council meeting, according to the summer schedule, will be held on Monday, July 14th, 1975, commencing at 7:30 p.m. f Ald.Mabbett-report Alderman Mabbett then reported on nis attendance at the evening Son attendance at Housing Con- session of the Housing Conference in Vancouver, and Mayor Campbell ference in s Vancouver advised that at that time Mr. W. Thompson re Alderman Thompson further advised that the "Museum Train" will be s display of museum } train in City on display in Port Coquitlam from July 7th to 8th, 1975. 4 Ald. Thompson re Alderman Thompson then referred to the new houses being constructed A cost of new houses- # Laurier Ave. on Laurier Avenue and inquired as to the selling price, and Alderman Laking advised that the non-basement, 1,200 square foot homes are being sold for approximately $49,000.00 each. j Ald. Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay referred to his query at the previous meeting 4 ditch-cleaning : regarding the progress being made on ditch-cleaning throughout the City and advised that last Sunday a resident informed him he had hired an individual to clean the ditch adjacent to his property rather than wait for the City to do the work. j Ald. Traboulay re s let-downs-Cst.M.Rd. & Prairie Ave. j intersection Alderman Traboulay stated he was pleased to see that the let-downs for wheelchairs, baby carriages, etc., have now been installed at the Coast Meridian Road-Prairie Avenue intersection. Ald.Traboulay re Alderman Traboulay referred to the fact that the installation of a street Light- Tuohey Ave. street light on Tuohey Avenue has not as yet been undertaken, and requested the Public Works Committee to investigate the matter. Ald. Traboulay- Alderman Traboulay then gave notice of a motion he intended to Notice of Motion re formation of present at the next Council meeting with respect to the formation of a Heritage Adv. Committee Heritage Advisory Committee pursuant to Section 714A of the Municipal Act, and advised he had a list of volunteers for such a Committee from
