Re: Programming Costs - Basic Four Accounting Unit -The City of Port Coquitlam will be required during 1975 to complete the systems and programming work thru M.A.I. on our new accounting unit (computer). .This is roughly estimated to cost approximately $3,700. (6: weeks @ $625.). There is an amount of $3,500. provided in the 1975 Provisional Budget (acct. 219510). ; ; Our City and four neighbouring municipalities. have been meeting and. we | “ have all agreed that we should jointly contract directly with an employee _ of M.A.I., (They approve). The five municipalities would therefore . 7 commit themselves for the next 12 months only the following sums: — District of Matsqui — $ 7,000. — District of Mission 3,000. City of Langley . 3,000. City of Port Coquitlam 3,000. City of Port Moody 2,000. TOTAL $ 18,000. eel In as much that we will pay out $3,000. we will have the services of the programmer for at least 8 1/2 weeks (intermittently) which would otherwise cost approximately $5,300. Plus the added feature that we are utilizing a programmer which has gained in the speciality of municipal systems and applications. . , We hope that we can prepare and finalize a contract within one month however, we do wish to save immediately on programming costs and to that end I would very much like to ask Council to approve at this time in principal this undertaking. I will then need to come back to Council with a request for permission for our City to sign the contract in question. Faithfully submit —— G F. Forcier, Treasurer.
