Re: Beautification Projects

As you may be aware, B.C. siydro has established an annual budget of one
million dollars to assist B.C. municipalities in covering the costs of undergrounding overhead
distribution lines. The process for allocating these funds and the conditions which apply are
detailed in the attached document.

Since this policy is available to all B.C. municipalities, generally, the requests
for assistance exceed the available funding. Should your municipality be interested in
making a submission, I would be pleased to meet with you, or your delegate, to discuss how
we can best present your project to Hydro’s Board for consideration.

The important item to note, however, is that completed applications must be
filed with this office by 1 October 1990.
