As indicated in ey said report, the first I heard about the need for extensive alterations to the communications centre of the Justice Guilding was in late August/early September, at which time { requested the Officer in Charge of the detachwent to provide me with full details in order that TE coutd commission consultants tc apprise me of the estimated probahie cost. There is a sense of urgency expressed by the efficer commanding the detachment because the equipment that is to be added is to arrive on the First uf February, 19281. IT anticipate that the Municipal Council of the District will appreciate the urgency and favourably consider the recommendation contained in my report to appropriate funds at an early date. ; The purpose of this letter is to ask that you present the matter to your Council. As you will note, in my recomcenda- tion the action proposed is subject to the concurrence of your Council and, of course, subject to approval by tha Council of the District.
