January 8th, 1979, From the City Administrator, January 5th, 1979 advising at the last City Admin., meeting of the May Day Committee, the group resolved to ask the City for Jan. 5/79 re : May Day. approval of a $20,000.00 budget for the 1979 May Day. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That Council hereby ratify the holding of a 1979 May Day. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution a discussion ensued. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the report of the City Administrator concerning the 1979 May Day under date of January Sth, 1979 be referred to the Leisure Activities Committee for further study, Senn Carried. Sone City Admin., Jan. 5/79 re two-man garbage system. From the City Administrater, January 5th, 1979 advising of the PRET Proposed two-man garbage pick-up system as discussed with the Engineer and C.U.P.E. Local 498 during the latter part of 1978 and recommending that the Draft Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Port Coquitlam and C.U.P.E. Local 498 covering the implementation of this system for a@ one year trial period be approved, and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign on behalf of the City. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended by the City Administrator, January 5th, 1979 the’ Draft Memorandum cf Agreement between the City of Port Coquitlam and C.U.P.E. Local 498 covering the immplementation of a two-man garbage pick-up system for a one year trial period, be approved; AND THAT the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the said Agreement on behalf of the City and affix the Corporate Seal thereto.
