PROPOSED 76 APARTMENT UNITS R#15/74, Council may recall that on May 5, 1975, when a 76-umit apartment development proposed.by Westgate Enterprises Ltd. was presented to Council, the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Committee, in support of the proposal, was rejected. On May 20, 1975, Westgate representative once again met with the Committee, suggesting modifications to the previous plan. The major modification is the provision of underground parking for 36 cars as opposed to total surface parking proposed previously, thereby reducing the extent of blacktop driveway and parking area quite significantly. Other modifications include extensive landscaping on the 33°. road allowance separating the development site and Birchland Manor . Subdivision, and the prevision of daycare facilities in one of the apartment ‘blocks. RECOMMENDATION: The Committee reviewed the modified plan and was of the opinion that it was ‘acceptable. The Committee therefore recommends that the proposed development be approved and a land use contract be prepared subject to: 1. Approval of final development plans. 2. Approval of City Engineer on servicing requirements. L. Lee Planning Officer.
