She has 13 grandchildren, and
four great grandchildren.

being held Nov. 12 by the Ter-
race Regional Museum Society.
It takes place at the Skeena
Mall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donations are greatly ap-
preciated. All proceeds got to the
Heritage Park Museum.

A CHARITY potluck dinner
and dance sponsored by the
nurses from the Maternity Ward
at Mills Memorial Hospital
takes place Saturday Nov. 26 at
the Elks Hall. Cocktails ‘at 6:30,
dinner at 7 p.m.

* It’s $15 per person and there
will be a live band,

All proceeds from the event and
raffle will go towards buying a
birthing bed at the hospital.

The nurses will also be at the
Skeena Mali from .Dec. 12-14
wrapping Christinas presents for
shoppers to raise more moncy.

Local writers in collection

A COUPLE OF local writers appear ina new callection of north coast
writings.

_ Entitled North Coast Collected, the book i is a distillation of the Prince
Rupert Writers’ Group’s annual anthologies since 1985.

The collection of short stories and poems include works by Terrace’s
Norma Kerby and Dina von Hahn.

“The writing is very reflective of the lifestyles along the north coast,”’
Kerby says of the book. ‘I’m interested in the characters that live in
northem Canada.’’

The collection includes works of 36 northern BC, writers, including
George Stanley, Jean Rysstad, Zoe Landale, Joan Skogan, Dorothy
Trail Spiller, Barrie Abbott, Andrew Wreggitt, Ken Campbell, and [ain
Lawrence,
