Improvements are planned for the playing field at the corner of Pa- quette Ave. and Clark St. and for another field next to Thornhill Primary School. The agreement also specifies the construction of a soc- cer pitch surrounded by a running track behind Thornhill Elementary School. Reserve land will be set aside for a future ex- pansion of the Thornhill Community Centre, and the tennis courts next to - the centre will be doubl- ed in size. The estimated cost of the project is $25,000, with the regional district and school district each contributing half of the expense, A clause in the agreement provides for the same 50-50 split to apply if the development goes beyond budget estimates. Regional district ad- ministrator John Pousette stated that this agreement is the first of its kind between the two organizations, and he added that a general agreement is currently being drafted to provide for mutual exchange of services and facilities between the regional district and the school board. , Mystery Ancient plant and pollen fos- sils from Africa and South Amet- ica may reveal important secrets about the nature of life on Earth long before the present-day con- tinents and oceans took shape.
