TRE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PorT COQUTTLAM BY-LAW NO. A By~law to regulate the establishment and operation of piggeries and the keeping of swine. WHEREAS by virtue of Section 871, subsection (1) (d) of the Municipal Act, being Chapter 255 of the Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1960 as amended, a Municipal Council may pass by-laws regulating the keeping of swine; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: . 1. (a) "Piggery" shall mean any building, place or farm where swine are raised, maintained and kept. (b) "Swine" shall mean pig, piglet, hog, sow, boar. 2. Piggeries may be established within the limits of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam only within the area designated as Agricultural Land Reserve pursuant to the Provisions of the Land Commission Act, provided that: (a) The property on which it is proposed to establish a piggery is not less than 4 hectares (9.8 acres) in area, (b) The smallest property within the immediate area of the property on which it is Proposed to establish a piggery is a minimum of 2 hectares (4.9 acres) in area, , (ce) The properties surrounding the property on which it is Proposed to establish a piggery is zoned A~1l or A-2 by the Zoning By-law of the City and is in use for an Agricultural pursuit, (d) A suitable sign, not less than 1 square metre (11 square feet) single faced, or not more than 2.2 square metres (24 square feet) double faced, be erected and clearly visable from the frontage street, identifying che Premises as a piggery. 3. As required by the Zoning By~law of the City the buildings and structures or pens, enclosures, or other places where swine are kept shall be located not less than: (a) Sixty (60) metres (196.85 feet) from a front lot line, (b) Forty~five (45) metres (147.64 feet) from an interior side lot line, (c) Sixty (60) metres (196.85 feet) from an exterior side lot line, (d) Forty-five (45) metres (147.64 feet) froma rear lot line. (e) Forty-five (45) metres (147.64 feet) from all buildings being used for residential Purposes,
