CHARGES FOR SERVICE

10. (a) The charge payable by each owner and occupier cf premises for the
service authorized by this By~law, shall be Twenty-four Dollars ($24.00) per
annum and there shall be imposed, levied and collected from each owner and
occupier, a special annual charge of Twenty-four Dollars ($24.00) for each of
the premises herein defined.

(b) The Collector shall place the said special charge on the real-pro-
perty tax roll for collection. Each said special charge shail be Placed on
the said roll with respect to each parcel of land upon which the premises served
pursuant to this By-law is situate and shall be payable by the legally assessed
owner thereof.

(c) The said special charges shall be due and payable on the same date as
the annual tax rates of the Municipality and shall be collected in the same.
manner with all the like remedies as ordinary taxes upon land and improvements
under the "Muntetpal Act",

(d) Upon application, where the Council is satisfied that @ person or his
premises does not require the service provided pursuant te this By~law, the
Council may, upon application by that person, waive the charges imposed Pursuant
to this By-law, and may limit the period of time in respect of which the waiver
is effective.

PENALTIES

eo Every person who violates any of the provisions of this By~law or who
suffers or permits any act or thing to be done in contravention or in violation
of any of the provisions of this By-law, or who neglects to do or refrains from
doing anything required to be done by any of the provisions of this By-law, or
who does any act which violates any of the provisions of this By-law, shall be
guilty of an infraction thereof and upon Summary Conviction therefor shall be
liable to a fine and penalty not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars (3500.00).

REPEAL OF PRIOR BY-LAW

22. (a) By-law No. 442, cited as the “Port Coquitlam Garbage Disposal By-law,
1950" is hereby repealed.

(b) By-law No. 828, cited as the “Port Coquitlam Garbage Disposal By-law,
1950, Amendment By-law No. 828, 1966" is hereby repealed.

RECITAL OF BY-LAW

13. This By-law may be cited for all purposes as "Port Coquitlam Refuse

Materials Collection, Removal and Regulation By-law, 1976, No. 1426".
