Road Attached to this memorandum are several items of correspondence respecting the above noted property and Council will note that under date of March 13th, 1975 the Senior Building Inspector recommended that the Council order a demolition of the dwelling located thereon. Before giving consideration to the draft resolution quoted here- under all Council members should ensure that they have personally viewed the building complained of and if the owners of the property are in atten- dance at the Council meeting of April 7th, 1975 (as they have been invited) they should be permitted to address the Council: "That the Council of the City of Port Coquitlam hereby declares that the building located in the City of Port Coquitlam, Province of British Columbia, on land more particularly known and described as Lot B, Block 12, District Lot 232, Group 1, Plan 20589, New Westminster District (being 1510 Pitt River Road) is in so delapidated and uncleanly a condition as to be offensive to the community. It is hereby ordered that the said building be demolished by the owners or agent of the owners, within thirty (30) days of service of this order upon them. It is further ordered that should the owners or agent of the owners fail to comply with the aforesaid order within the said period of thirty (30) days, the Engineering Department, by their workmen, or contractors, may be instructed to enter on the lands and demolish the building at the expense of the owners, and the charges for so doing, if unpaid by the owners on the 31st day of December, shall be added to and form part of the taxes payable in respect of that land as taxes in arrears." g Att'd.
