It was suggested that the Deputy Engineer obtain further information from the City of Vancouver on the cost of the warning signs, where these are available, and any other relevant information prior to preparing a I I MULTI-RETRIAL CURBSlDE COLLECTION "blue boxes» due to the increasing demand; thus if the City wishes to carry out a pilot project prior to the expiry of IPI's current contract in July, 1990, the decision to proceed will have to be made soon. There was considerable discussion on the merits of pursuing a pilot project versus channelling the time and money required for this towards a full fledged program. With such developments as the completion of the NcLaren Report for the GVRD and the possibility of funding from the Provincial Government towards start-up costs of a multi-material curbside program it was felt that there may not be a need for a pilot project. The Committee agreed that careful consideration should te given to what purpose a pilot project would serve before a decision is made to proceed. IS!) L)i em. s gIIIs asalliiig I!
