The computer marking won't throw out
the highest and lowest marks anymore, but
will toss out marks randomly.

This randomness wiil prevent cheating us
judges’ marks will be tracked and any incon-
sistency can be caught easily.

THORNHILL JUNIOR girls basketball dropped both
-their games during their hosted playday J anuary 8.
‘They lost to Centennnial in the morning and then to
Charles Hayes, who went undefeated, in the afternoon.
“The girls played well,” coach Cory’ | Killoran said.
“They haven’t played alot this year.”
“The Grade 9 and 10 girls have practiced alot, even over
Christmas break on their own time, Killoran said.
Next up, the team travels to Prince Rupert Second-
ary to play this weekend.

THE TERRACE Peaks Gymnastics Club plans: to
expand its building in Thornhill.

It will mark the second phase of the building origi-
nally constructed in 1990 near the Skcena Valley Fall
Fair grounds.

The club has raised around $7,000 so far, said board
member Darryl Bjorgaard, but will be raising more
this year with the goal of beginning construction in the
spring of 2006,

“We are looking to add a dance studio, weight room,
bathrooms and change rooms,” he said.

“This will not only be used by our athletes but will

» Ibe open for other user. groups.” ;

Already the Shames Mountain ski club uses the
Peaks building for dryland training to improve their ski
skills off the hill. ; °

Some 400 Peaks club members use the facility,
which employs two full-time and [0 part-time work-
crs.

City council voted to provide the. club with a letter
of Support.
