Busy month| ahead for bantams The Terrace bantam reps of minor hockey are keep- ing busy as they work towards B.C. double ‘AA’ finals in March. - Prince George reps accepted _an invitation to play here this weekend. They’re scheduled against Terrace Friday night at 10, and Saturday at 12: noon. Prince George then goes to- Kitimat to take on their bantams Saturday night at 9, then again Sunday morning before leaving for home. Terrace also has some weekend series lined up for February. They’re hosting Kitimat here on the 3rd and 17th weekends, and travel to Prince Rupert on the 24th weekend. On Wednesday, Feb. ‘28th, a Quebec team which is in the area - on an exchange visit with Smithers will play our bantams | at the arena. This year provincial cham- pionships are at Abbotsford from March 18 to 25. Terrace started the new year by winning a pair of games against Prince Rupert on Jan. 13 weekend. The scores were 10-5 and 8-1. Reps do well Terrace teams won three out of four minor hockey rep games ‘played on Jan. 13 weekend. The midgets travelled to Kitimat where they beat the home towners 9-2 before losing 5-4. ‘The bantams hosted Burns Lake for a pair and won. both games by the same score — 8-5. Fitzpatrick keeps. They beat Skeena Tsimp- seans of Terrace 68-47 in the final. Port ‘Simpson placed third, - with Kitimat fourth, in the con- solation final, Ketchikan lost 58-47 to Port Simpson. Booth’s Brady J ohnston ’ was most valuable player. All-stars were Sean McCarron of Kitimat, Kyan Reeve of Ketchikan, Scott Hodson of Terrace, Chris Sankey of Port Simpson and Jeremy Quast of Booth. Meanwhile, only three girls’ teams competed on their side. In round-robin play, Skeena beat Booth 34-33, Kitimat downed Skeena 47-29 and Kitimat defeated Booth 22-6. '’.
