March 30, 1992/086 A vegular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hail, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. om Monday, March 30th, 1992, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordun, J.J. Keryluk, RH. Talbot, M.A. Thompson and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Acting City Planner J. Lee, Director of Building Permits and Inspections J. Shardlow, Fire Chief J. Baillie and Deputy Fire Chief G. Routley. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council meeting held on March 23rd, 1992 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. PROCLAMATION: WHEREAS Canadian citizenship recognizes the equal status of the citizen by birth and the citizen by choice, each being entitled to the rights and privileges and subject to the duties and responsibilities which flow from being a Canadian citizen; WHEREAS Canadian citizenship and its attendant values are to be promoted among the people of Canada; AND WHEREAS We acknowledge that the week of April 1°th to 18th, 1992 has been chosen as National Citizenship Week to coincide with the 125th anniversary of Canadian Confederation and the 45th anniversary of the proclamation of the Canadian Citizenship Act and the 10th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights: and Freedoms, NOW THEREFORE: I,Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of April 12th to 18th, 1992 "NATIONAL CITIZENSHIP WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlam.
