Land Use Amendajents to
"Official Commmity Plan Bylaw, 1993, No. 2848"
Planning and Development Committee — January 4&, 1994

RECOMMENDATION :

That the Municipal Clerk be instructed to prepare a Bylaw to Amend
Schedule "B" of the "Official Community Plan Bylaw, 1993, No. 2848" to
incorporate the land use changes as outlined in Appendix I.

BACKGROUND =

The Official Community Plan was adopted at the Council Meeting of November
29, 1993. When Third Reading was given on November 18, 1993, Council approved
a report from the Director of Planning regarding suggestions made by
individuals during the Public Hearing. Of the eight items raised at the

Public Hearing, three required action by staff immediately after the final
adoption of the plan.

In addition to the two items dealt by this report, the issue of
designating Apel Drive as an alternative road is under review by the
Engineering Department. A report will be presented to council in the neer
future. .

DISCUSSION:

There are two suggested land use changes that were supporte! by the
Planning Department and Council that can be made at this time.

1. One change is to amend the designation of a natural area (known as "Nacht
Park'') in South Shaughnessy from "Parks and Recreation" to "Park
Reserve". This is supported as the park is intended to be left in its |
natural state with no development other than passive recreation and trails.
