Deputy City Engineer DEVON WATERMAIN PROJECT - PAVEMENT RESTORATION That Council approve the recommendation to repave the entire width of Devon Road (6 metres) from Prairie Avenue north approximately 462 metres at an additional cost to the contact of $22,915 + G.S.T. That the funds for this work be allocated from the Milling and Overlay Program The installation of the 250 mm ductile watermain on Devon Road from Prairie Avenue north approximately 462 meters has been completed apart from the repaving of the roadway. As a result of a realignment of a portion of the watermain a larger section of the roadway has been disturbed. With this additional work and a number of roadway cuts as part of the renewing of services much of the roadway surface will be required to be repaved. Further, the overall condition of the remaining asplialt roadway is in poor condition. In order to ensure that the roadway will perform adequately it is recommended that the entire surface be repaved at this time. The additional cost for this work is estimated at $34,290. The contractor has provided a credit of $11,375 for asphalt replacement, resulting in an additional cost of $22,915 + G.S.T. to the contract. It is recommended that this work be approved and this extra cost be allocated from the Milling and Overlay Program Budget (CW 900-259). Avid j. E. Yip, P/ Eng.
