THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES A meeting of the Public Works Committee wes held in the Councillor Meeting Room, City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, on Tuesday, December 15, 1992, at 5:00 p.m. In attendance were: Councillor M. Gates, Chairman Councillor R. Talbot, Co-Chairman J.E. Yip, P. Eng., Deputy City Engineer ihe minutes for the previous Public Works Committee meeting were considered read and adopted. Carried. TEM: "NO PARKING" AT ENTRANCE TO MULTI-FAMILY COMPLEXES Committee considered a letter dated October 7, 1992 from the property manager of Strataco Management Ltd. expressing concem over the close proximity of vehicles parked along the entrance rcadway into the Strata Corporation limiting visability for motorists. Committee approved the recommendation to amend Section 1(e) of Schedule "A" of the Traffic Regulation Bylaw 117 to include “multi-family complexes of 20 or more residential units”. Further to the request of the Committee for a cost estimate for the placement of boulards and no-post guard rails on Hastings Street beside Gordon Manor. Committee approved Option 1 at a cost of $500 to install 10 wooden boulards approximately 1.5 metres apart along the east side of Gordon Manor to cover approximately 15 metres of open access. IYEMIV: REQUEST FOR "NO PARKING” SIGNS IN FRONT OF 1826 KINGSWAY Committee discussed the letter from Rogers Cable requesting that "No Parking" restrictions be placed in front 1820 to 1830 Kingsway Avenue. This item was deferred last meeting so the Project Technician could investigate the site. The investigation concluded that parking is limited in the area and there is difficulty getting into and out of many driveways along Kingsway but especially Rogers because theix parking lot is so small. The Project Technician recommended that 15 minute parking limits be enforced in front of Rogers to keep all day parking people out of the way. Committee agreed with the recommendation to reduce parking to a 15 minute time limit in front of Rogers Cable to allow constant rotation of vehicles in front of the complex. Cont’d .../2
