Zahynacz, P, Eng, City Engineer Ce The Corporation, of the City of Port Coquitlam Aste | 2580 Shaughnessy Street eee Port Coquitlam, B,C, V3C 2A8 Dear Mr. Zahynacz: Re: #159 Transit Route Adjustments in Conjunction with the Completion of Citadel Drive On September 2, 1991, the #159 bus route was introduced providing a new transit service to the Citadel Heights community as well as limited service to the Meridian Industrial area. Prior to this time, transit service to Citadel Heights was not available due to the Citadel. Drive roadway not being complete. As a result of public requests, a temporary turnaround facility was constructed on a vacant school property by the City of Port Coquitlam to allow for implementation of transit service. With the recent completion of Citadel Drive to Mary Hill Road, BC Transit is proposing to implement the perrnanent routing of the #159 service along Citadel Drive (see attached) and discontinue use of the temporary turnaround. This permanent routing is consistent with the long-term bus route and service objectives of BC Transit and City of Port Coquitlam, and was also presented to area residents at Public Open House sessions in the past. The proposed implementation date would be Monday, April 27, 1992, This proposed permanent routing is estimated to save up to 8 minutes travel time (in each direction) for current users of the #159 service. As we currently do not operate service on Citadel Drive west of the temporary turnaround or on Mary Hill Road between Citadel Drive and the Mary Hill Bypass, we would request at this time permission by the City of Port Coquitlam to do so. In addition, new bus Stops would be required on the new section of the route. “it Baal cat Ara eA ding
