RE: Medicare for Diabetics.

+ would advise that, the Counci] of the City of Nanaimo,
meeting held Monday, 1989-DEC-18, p

at their regular
assed the following resolutions:

"WHEREAS the prescription supplies required by a diabetic are not ai]
covered by Medicare or Pharmacare: and .

WHEREAS

these costs can amount to $200. or more per month, and

WHEREAS a person on low or fixed income cannot afford these supplies;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Nanaimo

request the Provincia] Government to implement changes to ‘the
Pharmacare Policy so that these items are covered;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Council write to all
municipalities in British Columbia
